DECONFINING – the artistic residencies in Tanzania

Summary of “Deconfining Arts, Culture and Politics in Europe and Africa” art residency

Thank you very much to the entire team at Nafasi Art Space for the wonderful time, meetings, and conversations!

We had the opportunity to meet artists associated with Dar es Salaam, as well as organizations working in the fields of art, music, and performing arts. We are extremely impressed by the artistic scene in Dar and the Nafasi program, as well as their local partners!

A photo from the farewell dinner at the end of the residency, marking the completion of a certain stage, but that’s not all! Ahead of us are further actions as part of our collaboration. ??

Asante Sana!

DECONFINING is a four-year EU-funded project bringing together cultural practitioners, artists, policy makers, and audiences from two continents – Europe and Africa. Dedicated to contributing to a better understanding of (social, political and economic) confinement patterns from different viewpoints, the project aims to explore and develop new ways of intercontinental artistic and cultural (policy) cooperation and provide better access and information for intercontinental mobility and co-creation.
