This discussion accompanied the project “Unlearning – 20 Years of Art for Social Change in the V4 Region”, held on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the SURVIVAL Art Review. The project aimed to revise ingrained habits and unlearn established patterns of action, looking toward the future of the relationship between art and social change.
The presentation of works by Ukrainian artists served as a starting point for a conversation on regional creative solidarity, the role of art in post-war reconstruction, and the meaning of artistic activity during wartime. The invited guests—artists, curators, and researchers from across the V4 region—engage with art in connection to social contexts in diverse and meaningful ways.
Participants in the discussion: Kateryna Botanova, Franz Tisek, Balázs Simon, Yuriy Biley, Zuzana Kupcová
Moderated by: Małgorzata Miśniakiewicz
The discussion took place as part of the Social Stage of the 20th SURVIVAL Art Review (June 24–25, 2022), in the park of the former Betania Hospital, Traugutta 118, Wrocław.
