The most recent exhibition at the Szewska gallery, featuring works by Zofia Pałucha, a young and extremely original painter associated with Wrocław, could be viewed as a continuation of the artist’s presentation held at the Mieszkanie Gepperta gallery in May and June this year.
At Szewska, we can see Pałucha’s work in a slightly broader context, revealed by Małgorzata Kujda, a photographer who spent a day accompanying the artist in her studio. In this way, a mini photo reportage was created, showing Zofia among her new and slightly older works, both finished and unfinished.
The exhibition allows the viewer to once again face the elusive idiom of her unique practice, which unexpectedly combines references to pop and high culture, everyday life and the virtual world, while attracting attention with a perfect technique, so rare these days.
Zofia Pałucha (b. 1993 in Częstochowa) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Currently, she is a PhD candidate at the Doctoral School of the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław.
