Youth in culture

Polish-Hungarian exchange project for persons involved in the development of local socio-cultural initiatives.

We will conduct a course for young community leaders to enhance the inclusion of people from fewer opportunities into cultural events. The selected participants, who engage in cultural work, will learn about the product cycle of cultural events and acquire skills and knowledge about the accessibility requirements in this field.. The workshop program is designed to allow participants to gain the knowledge and tools to work in culture on projects that include people from backgrounds hitherto excluded from culture or with limited access to it. Thanks to the involvement in our workshops of organizations and experts working in the cultural sphere and communities of excluded people, the knowledge we can pass on to future leaders is reliable and up-to-date.

Through our collaboration with the organization Pro Progressione from Budapest, we want to create forward-looking models for care work in aging societies and for including people from excluded backgrounds in cultural activities. Our partner’s project, Careers for Common Good, and our Foundation’s experience in the cultural field, perfectly shows that we have the tools and knowledge to organize a space for young people to develop their skills and competencies. Through this project, we will train new community leaders who will be able to create cultural projects that are accessible and safe for all members of our societies.

For the workshop we would like to invite 20 people aged 18-30 from Poland and Hungary who want to develop themselves in the field of culture and work in pro-social NGO’s. Recruitment will take place through online applications and online interviews. During the project there will be two 5-day series of workshops and meetings-one will be held in Poland and the other in Hungary.
