We would like to invite you on April 29 (Wednesday) to the next meeting in the Senior Art Walk series. We will visit two venues located close to each other.
We will begin our encounter with contemporary art at 4:00 PM at the Geppert Apartment gallery (Mieszkanie Geppertów), located at 1 Ofiar Oświęcimskich Street (I will be waiting for you at the main entrance to the building). There, we will see the exhibition “Home” by Irmina Murawska, created as a result of the Audience Award of the 23rd Survival Art Review. In this exhibition, the artist engages with the archetype of home, also through the lens of personal experience. She constructs her home using artistic techniques associated with the warmth of a domestic hearth. As a result, her home remains cozy and inviting. However, beneath the surface of soft, safe textures and decorative objects lie traumas, painful moments, and a longing for the safety of home.
Afterwards, we will move to a new space that is also an artistic installation — ŻYJNIA, located at 2–4 Świdnicka Street. This unique place in the heart of the city is designed as a space for rest and respite through art. Żyjnia currently occupies the entire space of one of the BWA galleries. In this way, it develops the idea of an urban living room and a kind of sanatorium — offering relaxation while also allowing for a free and open experience of art, engaging especially the imagination and the senses.
Participation in the Senior Art Walk is free of charge.
