The International Institute for Community-Driven Art Commissioning (IICCA), founded by Bethlen Theater (HU), Art Transparent (PL) and the New Theater Institute of Latvia (LV), launched an open call for individuals interested in joining the group of artistic commissioners at IICCA.
The role of artistic commissioner involves a two-year commitment (2023–2025) as part of an international project. The goal is to allocate funding for artists who will create new artworks specifically designed for the Brochów neighborhood in Wrocław. The selection of both the artists and the final commissioned artwork is made by the individuals recruited through this call. IICCA provides training, a production budget, and professional guidance throughout the entire process.
The DemArt IICCA program aims to democratize the practice of funding and commissioning artworks by local authorities and cultural organizations, while placing emphasis on the role of local communities and their cultural needsin this process.
Key selection criteria included:
