For the podcast series dedicated to the publication „“Narratives of Closeness and Distance from Central-Eastern Europe and South–East Africa. A multicontextual patchwork”„, we invited authors, editors, project initiators, translators, and collaborators to reflect on the real and perceived distance between the two featured regions: Central-Eastern Europe and South-Eastern Africa.
The first part of the podcast series, recorded in Polish in cooperation with Miła Bożek from Polish Radio Wrocław, introduces Polish listeners to the goals of the project, the publication itself, and the work of Polish contributors. Every Wednesday in July 2024 at 6:10 PM, episodes of the series Africa: Close and Distant were broadcast on Radio Wrocław Kultura. The podcasts are now available on the Art Transparent Spotify channel.
The second part is produced by the Women’s History Museum in Lusaka, where Samba Yonga (in English) interviews authors from Southeast Africa. The museum named their segment: „Narratives In Between”. This five-episode series highlights the diverse cultural landscapes of Central-Eastern Europe and Southeast Africa, offering a rich, multicontextual patchwork of stories from a Zambian perspective.
The third part, coming soon, will include ten podcast episodes exploring Hungarian and Zambian perspectives on cultural cooperation between our regions – stay tuned.
